Greetings golfers, 

 

The pro shop team have been doing our best to answer the following questions recently:

• Is it raining up there? 
• Is it snowing up there? 
• What's the weather going to be like on Saturday, Tuesday and next Wednesday? 
• Why can't you tell me if the course is open Graeme?

Answer - Because it's still dark sir!

We do enjoy our banter with all of the members, and I think our humorous responses make everyone see the lighter side of life.

Well if you thought that it rained in East Kilbride, well you've got to visit Crieff where people swim to work as opposed to driving. The Bell clan went up to the hydro for a bit of family fun as Mrs Bell was off for midterm. She took a break from teaching kids to looking after me, so it wasn't much of a break for her. However we were blessed as Harris slept for more than 2 hours a night and that was utterly amazing. It was my birthday and I was treated to a trip of the Famous Grouse Whisky factory which was very interesting. I was given 5 different luxury Whiskey's to taste, and I can officially reveal that they all tasted the same, a cross between drinking paraffin through a burnt log. Whisky is not my bag, but it did help me lose consciousness just after dinner.

New Stock Arriving

With the new season fast approaching us, the shop will be filling up with new and exciting stock. From shoes to slip overs we will have it all, and please remember that I can always compete on price and you can guarantee that my service will be much better than an online or high street store.

I have a relationship with all my customers, but please don't worry as I won't be taking you out for a steak dinner, it's purely professional. What I basically mean is that I will go that extra mile to assist you and always look after your best interests.

So keep an eye out for all of this year's latest must haves as they land in the shop.

Operation Bunker

Feast your eyes on this little beauty of a bunker! Something which we definitely needed and Brian our Head Greenkeeper has created a wonderful bunker for us. Our staff did it all themselves without any costly outside contractors. 

We have some very skilled guys working out there and hopefully in the coming season I will be able to show you all what they get up to out on the hallowed turf of EKGC.

Brian and his team used over 100 tonnes of earth to build the bunker!!! Wow! The fact that the ground sloped up away from the green also made the job require more soil. I personally did not understand the half of what had to go into it, and the more I understand, the more I realise how tough a job he has at times.

I am your media centre that links you to the club and the course. I am basically like Sky Sports but without the monthly charge or the unsightly dish. Some have said I have an unsightly dish but I have chosen to ignore them. You can get a daily report of what's happening at the club via the following:
