Greetings golfers,
I think that 99.9% of my newsletters start with something about the weather and this week, well I'm going to talk about the weather.
In the past week we have had sunshine, followed by snow, followed by rain, followed by hail. The only thing we have not had is a plague of locusts, but it's not the end of the week yet, and we did have a chap called Moses played the course this week...
The weather does have a huge impact on your golf, and here are a few things that you need to have:
Good Waterproofs
Good waterproofs are not just ones that fit. Modern waterproofs are so much more than they were years ago.
Having waterproofs with stretch panels or materials contained within the garment are so important. If you don't have these then your swing will be compromised and you will not generate as much speed in your swing.
You will also find it hard to feel the same swing movements you have normally.

A Good Golf Umbrella
Having an umbrella is key, but again having one which is fit for purpose is something you need to think about. Many of you will have one that you were given free from a bank or corporate day. These are usually pretty flimsy and don't have panels to stop the wind carrying it off down to the Raith Interchange.
Having a modern fibreglass trolley with "Gustbuster" panels will make things much easier for you and give you more protection in the elements. One thing that many trolley owners forget is that they have to have a lightweight but strong trolley with a handle that fits the trolley brolly holder.
Rain Gloves
We have more rain that the rainforest and sometimes it cathodes us by surprise. I would always have a rain glove in my bag just in case. It will help your store and stop you getting sued by the players you hurt with your clubs flying out your hands.
A Waterproof Bag
I can't believe that manufacturers have only recently started making waterproof golf bags, and this year I have sold many waterproof golf bags to the members with great feedback.
If you think about it, it is so much easier not to have to carry a plastic bag mac in your back and not to struggle in a monsoon to put it on.

The Gents Team Start off with a Great Victory
This year Brian our Head Chef and I have sponsored the gents team, and it was great to see them off to a flying start on Wednesday. They beat Colville Park 7-3 on a freezing windy night under the new management of "Sir Ronnie Neil".
Ronnie has taken to the job like a duck to water and we really have a strong team this year. I have high hopes for the team not only winning the division but also winning best dressed.
Do You Crave More Distance?
I think I know the answer to this already and I know that most of you will be playing the wrong ball. The average age of our members is going up, and this means that the average club head speed is going down I'm afraid.
It also means that you are probably using a ball that was designed for your higher clubbed speed from years ago.
Using a lower compression ball will allow you to gain more ball speed and therefore more distance.
We are currently running a fantastic promotion on the new Srixon UltiSoft golf ball and it really is an offer that you do not want to miss.

Professionals Day 2016
Last year was my first Professionals Day at East Kilbride Golf Club and it was an absolute hoot!
This years format will be teams of 2 players in a better ball format. It was hugely popular and there were prizes galore for everyone.
There will be fun on and off the golf course, and the coveted "Professionals Day Trophy" will be up for grabs.
Food and drink will also be supplied on the course and all for only £10 per player, so £20 for your team of two.
The competition will take place on Saturday, 18 June and will go live on BRS on the 23rd May.
Again we will be offering a limited number of Sponsored Tee Times where you can reserve your desired tee off time now. As I say these are limited and when they are gone, they are gone, so reserve yours now. These sponsored times are £65 for 4 players.
There are also lots of other sponsorship opportunities for the day, and the lead up to the competition, so if you would like to get involved then please just drop me a line or click here to get in touch.

Complete Equipment Solution
I have been overwhelmed by the response for this promotion and my diary is filling up quicker than the Leicester City Fan Club.
In this promotion you get a FREE Custom Fitting Session & follow up lesson when you purchase golf clubs from me.
I have been custom fitting for longer than anyone I know, and we have the best custom fitting equipment and club building equipment that money can buy. Why? Well, because without this equipment and knowledge, your investment would be a huge gamble and that's not what it should be about.
Here's what one of my recent clients said:
"Graeme

Hole In One Again For Billy Rodger Billy again has slammed dunked the funk at hole 3 and bagged himself another hole in one!
Billy got one around the same time last year, so maybe he suffers from
"Seasonal Hole In One Disorder".
Well done Billy...
