Greetings golfers,
I am writing this weeks newsletter from Edinburgh Airport departure lounge, ok the bar but I'm on sparkling water that's been distiller into a bottle of beer. I am going to play golf, not pub golf but actual golf at Royal County Down Golf Club in Northern Ireland. It's been voted the best golf course in Great Britain and Ireland so I'm very excited about it. I unfortunately don't get to play as much golf as I would like as I'm very busy at work but here's hoping I don't use too much ammunition.
Sky Pro
Most of you will be aware of how I use my Flightscope radar to fit and to teach, and how much it benefits golfers. This equipment is a big investment in helping me to give you the correct information to make you and your clubs better.
Understanding what you do is crucial for you to make an impact on your game and knowing that you are changing your patterns is important for everyone. Having a radar device is not cost affective for most people but there are some devices on the market that give you important information and feedback on your swing. The unit that I recommend is the sky pro unit and it attaches to your club and putter which gives you information on your, path, speed, face angle, stroke and tempo. It is something that you can use simply at home, on the course or at the range. It stores all your swings and strokes and you begin to see your own patterns and change them for the better.

Sometimes there's more to life than golf
It's a strange title for me to have but I think that if we all understand this than we will eventually take some of the pressure we experience on the course off our shoulders. This week we saw Alistair Forsyth's caddie collapse and die during a European Tour Event. Was Alistair correct to continue play after it was suspended?
I used to play with Alistair in the Glasgow County team many years ago and know many people who also hold him in high regard and he must of had a reason why he carried on.We also saw the young chap Stephen Sutton lose his battle with cancer after raising millions of pounds for charity. He touched so many peoples hearts even when so much was going wrong for him. What am I saying?
Well it just makes us think, why worry about golf, enjoy it and yes put your heart and sole into it but don't fear it as it doesn't need to be feared. Respected yes but feared no! Next time you are on the tee, take a deep breath and say what a wonderful place to be and lets enjoy it.
Last Sunday's Men's Medal best scores in the 1st Division were from Findlay Tickle (6) 65, Eric Fleming (14) 66 and Simon Alves (13) 67. In the 2nd Division Jim Ross (22) came out on top with a score of 64, Douglas Scott (25) came second with 65 and in third place was Duncan Oliver (17) 67.
In the Ladies Par Competition the best scorers were Jane Moyes, Kay Barton and Sheena Litster. In the Summer Stableford Competition Frances Wood was the winner with 36 points, Jacqui Golding came second with 35 points and next was Gill Scott achieving 32 points.
Logan turns Pro
Logan has now turned 2 and is already showing signs of golfing promise. His dress sense is also on verge of brilliance but I can only take the credit for the golfing bit as I often dress in the dark! Here are a couple of photos of young Logan taking the putting green by storm!
Pimp my golf clubs!
We all drive different coloured cars, wearing different coloured clothes, why? Because we all like to be different and this is why we do unique customisation on your clubs.
We offer different coloured shafts, heads, grips and ferrules. We can make a real impact on your clubs no matter how tame or out there.
Here are some of our masterpieces.
Here at the shop we can customise your clubs in all areas. From a grip to a shaft and from loft and lies to the colours (see images). Click here if you are looking to adjust any clubs and we will help you make the right choices.
