Hello golfers,
Graeme has taken his family up to Arran for the week so you are stuck listening to my chat for this week. Firstly I would just like to thank everyone for their kind words and support having recently turned Professional. I am very excited about the journey I am starting and will be sure to keep you all updated on what I am up to.
So what have I been doing?
Well not a lot to do with the course yet, but I was in the great city of Boston last week with my better half. Lora is cabin crew with Virgin Atlantic and one of the perks of her job is that she gets free 'Upper Class' flights every year. We were upgraded both ways and I don't think I said 'no' once on either flight as I was showered with food and drink constantly. I even got given pyjamas on the flight home.
Boston was a fantastic city and we took a tour out to 'Salem' where the witch trials took place. The buzz about Salem at this time of year was fantastic with Halloween coming later this month. We even visited the 'The House of 7 Gables' which I thought would be a house haunted by witches, but turns out it's just a really old house built in 1630…
We didn't really get the point of it and I never even knew what a gable was. Anyway the trip was brilliant and I'd definitely recommend Boston as somewhere you should visit.
Feedback from the course has been fantastic recently with greens running smoothly and the place looking great. It has however been very wet and slippery and unfortunately we have had a couple of accidents on the course recently, and in one case it resulted in a broken ankle. I won't mention any names but if you're reading this we wish you a speedy recovery and hope to see you back up soon.
If everyone could just take extra care whilst walking, and also check your shoes and see if your studs are still going to be effective in this kind of weather. We can replace your studs in the shop within around half an hour if we have time, so if you feel you may need new studs stop by and have a chat with us.
We may even give them a clean for you...

My Obsession
Most of you will have noticed by now that I do enjoy the odd Under Armour garment as I do regularly wear it in the shop. However I didn't realise myself how obsessed I was becoming with their stuff.
Recently I had a clear out of some of my clothes in the flat and looked at my Under Armour collection. I can tell you it consists of 13 polo shits, 10 jumpers, 3 jackets, 4 pairs of trousers, and 5 hats… So far.
Yes I do have that much of their clothing. But I do feel it one of the best brands around in golf just now, and we have a great selection of stuff in the shop just now but it doesn't stop there.
If you see something online that we don't have in store then please show us what it is as we may be able to get it for you through their online ordering system.
