Greetings golfers,
You missed me, didn't you, just a little bit but I know you missed me. A big thank you to my little wordsmith Stuart who did me proud yet again with his edition of my weekly blog. Like me Stuart is prone to the odd typo and what a typo he had last week. I am not going to spoil the surprise but have another read by clicking here and it's in the paragraph about his clothes.
The Bell Family went to Arran for a few days last week and in true Bell style it started off with a few disasters.
Disaster Number 1: I have never been into WWE Wrestling but I had to get the roof box in full Nelson to get the zip to close in lashing rain on Tuesday morning. On closing the roof box I realised that my wallet was in the box. I needed my wallet, I really needed my wallet, so I had to do a reverse full Nelson to get it out.
Disaster Number 2: I don't know if you have met my mum, she's a lovely, lovely lady. But she could be considered as a female Frank Spencer on roller-skates. If you have ever been to Arran, you will know that you have to line up in your cars to board the ferry. I took my mums dog on board and left my mum in charge of her car. I then received a call from her to tell me that she had left her car lights on in the line without the car running and the battery was dead. I had to leave my dog with a random family, sprint yes sprint 500 yards to her aid and then 500 yards back to the boat after realising that I wasn't a mechanic. My lovely mum was stranded as I had to get back for the dog. She got the next boat and I had to spend 2 hours in a local pub which was a nice disaster.
Disaster Number 3: I am a man and I want to show my boys that I am one with nature and just like "Bear Grylls". So I did what any man would do, I bought a telescopic fishing rod and some spinning lures. I thought that my hunter gatherer skills would come flooding back and they didn't. My first cast saw me come within landing distance of a fully grown swan. One of the Queens birds nearly got a fluorescent hook right in the parsons nose. I could well have been dragged over the waves like a piece of tissue paper by the monstrous white bird. After changing my trousers the rod got thrown into the bush and we went inside to watch an episode of Peppa Pig.
Christmas Is Coming
Santa is washing his red and white suit and conditioning his wonderful white beard in preparation for the big event. If you, like me, get a number of presents that are how can I say, "Not really what you had in mind". Then I can help. All you need to do is add your loved ones email address to my newsletter database and they will get access to all of our golfing gifts on the lead up to Christmas.
You will even be able to create a Christmas Wish List online that they can access to make those presents more appealing to you..
So click here to add your loved ones now.
Foursomes Competition
Saturday saw the Foursomes competition take place and it proved a difficult day for most but not for the Dynamic Duo of Robert Barnes and Neil Watson who won the spoils with a nett 67.5.
1st - R. Barnes & N. Watson - 67.5
2nd - D. Hancock & J Mccarron - 68 (BIH)
3rd - S. Fletcher & C. Cormack - 68
Winter Wheels Update
Many of you have already been in to get your winter wheels fitted onto your trolleys and this is encouraging to see, but it would be nice to see a few more of you in.
We all must take care of the course as much as we can and if you do need a trolley then please consider using these wheels.
Again I will fit them for FREE and believe me, it is not an easy task to fit them.

Welshy is a legend
My great Assistant Ian Welsh is just a downright great guy and a guy who gives so much back to golf. He has developed Junior Golf throughout South Lanarkshire for decades and is so adept with it. He currently gives up his time to work with some of Golf's Junior Stars.
He has been working regularly with our very own shinning light Susan Woodhouse and another girl Kirsten Brown of Strathaven Golf Club. They have both progressed very well with him and young Kirsten finished 3rd in The Scottish Junior Girls Champion of Champions Tournament up in St Andrews at the weekend. She was only 1 shot away from winning.
Well, done Kirsten and well done Welshy.
