Greetings golfers,
You know the old saying "Nobody likes a Smart Alec"? And yes I was being Smart Alec last week by letting you know about Stuart's typo. And yes in true silly sausage style, I, the king of typos, dropped a howler. I am not going to go into the typos but just to say sorry to Stuart, Welshy and I promise to read over my work more carefully in future.
Halloween Here Already
With two young children, Halloween is a big part of the Bell Household, and this year we had some great fun.
When I say great fun, what I mean to say is that the boys got absolutely supercharged on copious amounts of sugar, colourings and E numbers. Then they ran round the house like unmanned speedboats before being slightly sick and carried to their beds.
I would also like to point out that we must have had around 40 guisers knocking at the door and nearly ran out of sweets.
Apparently a few oatcakes and a slab of Double Gloucester Cheddar does not cut the mustard...
We have had a very busy week of new stock arrivals at the shop, and here are some snaps of them.
As promised, we have upped our game regarding our club crested section. We have some lovely 1/4 zip cotton sweaters and lined sweaters for the chillier months.
We have also got some logo'd pencil bags, perfect for the winter and some crested hats that will keep your bonce nice and warm on and off the course.
The Green Jacket Regarded as the 5th Major at East Kilbride Golf Club "The Green Jacket" event is something very special, and for the second year in a row the Pro Shop Assistant has won. Last year it was
Kieran and this year
Stuart Houlden was the one getting fitted up for his jacket.
Stuart has played some great golf this year and had some tough competition right up to the end from
John Woodhouse and
Tom Kerr. I was unable to attend the Green Jacket evening of darts, pool and ping pong, but reports have been coming in thick and fast regarding the huge amounts of fun.
