Greetings,

Pros news

I will start this newsletter by letting everyone know that this week our course stayed open and on full greens when others around us closed and were on temporaries. This is testament to all the drainage work we have done over the years and we are without doubt the most playable course no matter the weather in the area and the most value for money private members course. I use social media to check on the reports of other facilities and we are staying well ahead of our competitors. If you were watching the 'Dubai Desert Classic' you will have seen that even in the desert they have to stop play due to weather!

The Golf Lab is coming...

It's been 2 years of planning but this month we will start the build of our state of the art Golf Lab.

Thank You

A big thank you to all of you who turned up to my clubhouse sale! Loads of you managed to save lots and lots of money on your purchases and I made room for all the new stock which will be arriving in the coming months. The latest FootJoy shoes have already started to arrive and I will be doing some reviews in the coming weeks to help you al decide which shoe is best for you!

Assistants news

My Week at The Belfry

Hi Everyone. Sorry for the lateness of this and I have probably already told most of you how my week was at The Belfry but for those of you who don't know it all went very well. I learned a lot during the week and look forward to going back down again.

We had a different module to look at each day so we looked at retailing, sports science, sports coaching and club making. I would say I took the most from the third day which was sports coaching and have now got a better idea of how to start taking lessons, so I plan to start doing lessons in the summer once I have my exams out the way!

Speaking of exams I did find out that I have to sit four in one day so that is something I am not looking forward to! I also met a lot of nice guys down there during the week from all over the UK and there are lot of good professionals coming through the PGA system. I decided to give myself a break from some of the work after that week as it was quite intense, however it's lasted a little longer than planned so need to get my head back down! Also Graeme was not kidding when he said its £8 a pint! Didn't stop me though... Cheers everyone!

Tour news

Tiger Tiger

I know he's been a rather naughty boy in the past but he has super powers when it comes to getting people interested in the game. The buzz around him playing in this event was huge but not as huge as the disappointment when he withdrew after one round. I really don't think he is fit physically or more importantly mentally.

The mental side is something that is totally overlooked in golf but let me tell you when you are standing on a tee with lots of people watching you, thinking that you are incapable of hitting a bad shot, the golf club can feel like an electric snake! I think Tiger is just not sure of his own ability anymore and I really don't know if he will ever be back. The main problem for us all is that like it or not, he is the biggest thing in golf!

Shop news

New Equipment

The new ladies G Le Range from PING has arrived in store and it looks stunning. They are packed full with wonderful technology but as always the question is "Will they work for you?" I will only be able to tell you that when I measure you for them and this is the only truthful way to do things. So if you would like to try them, then please contact me here.

We also have the new 2017 FootJoy Range beginning to arrive in-store. Pop in and take a look for yourself.

What Sets Me Apart From Other Golf Retailers

My business and reputation are built on integrity and honesty. Without this I would not be able to do this job or be able to look after my customers. Many big retailers are desperate for sales and they will do anything to get them. Don't get me wrong, I really need to make money, absolutely, but I earn a living from making people enjoy their golf more, not just from selling golf clubs.

Big retailers earn a living from selling you products regardless if they are helping you or not. Have a good think and try and remember the last time a retailer told you a club that they were trying to sell you wasn't suited to you and that your old one was better. In the last week I have told 3 out of 5 fittings that their old clubs were better. Why? Well because of my opening statement, "Integrity and honesty."

The New Titleist Pro V1

The new Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1X have landed in-store and I am giving one lucky reader of my newsletter the chance to test the balls and report back to the newsletter. Now, what I will say is that not everyone will benefit from a Pro V1 ball, i.e., clubhead speed may not be high enough. If this is the case with the winner then I will let them test another more suitable ball for their golf game.

So to be a golf ball tester, just contact me here.
