The sun is shining, the weather is hot and unfortunately it's speedo season! Yes summer is finally here and the place is buzzing. I am also buzzing as I have been on a diet this week. I realised that my face had not shrunk as much as I thought after the Man Flu and I had to do something about it. I have devoured more nuts and fruit than Edinburgh Zoo's Monkey enclosure and I feel Chimpion!! Hopefully you got that joke.
I even went to a 21st on Friday night and drank sparkling water instead of pints. Don't worry I was invited to the party, I just didn't turn up. So how do I feel? I actually feel no different at all but my face is definitely slimmer!
The Biggest Show in Town
It's that time of year again for the Professionals Day and we will be bringing maximum fun and prizes to the big day. The Professionals Day will be held on Saturday, 17 June 2017 and we have secured the Sponsorship of Douglas Park BMW for the second year in a row. The prizes on offer last year were outstanding (JUST ASK GERRY MULLAN) and this year they will be even better. We invented the burgers and refreshments at the 8th and we will be bringing them back for you all to enjoy, don't worry I'm not going to be cooking! The cost is £10 per person and the format will be teams of 2 players in a better ball format.
So the big event tee booking goes live on BRS on Monday, 22 May, so get those computers, phones and tablets at the ready!

Holes In One!
With the course playing fierier than a jalapeño pepper, it's so difficult to hold those par 3 greens. But not for a supremely skilled technician of golf. This man's name is Gordon Gibbons and he has joined the illustrious hole in one club. The ace was bagged at hole 3! Well done Gordon!
I did think that someone else got an ace at the weekend but it turns out that "Stuart Mathieson" definitely can't lip read or read sign language. Only he and "Ronnie Neil" will know what I am banging on about but I thought I'd write about it anyway.
Check Out My Tech
I've been harping on about the technology that I am bringing to you all here at East Kilbride and it is all for a good reason. I have spent around 2 years researching every single Launch Monitor in the world to arrive at my final choice. Trackman is a brand name that you will recognise but believe you me, it didn't come close to the Foresight Sports Quad.
If you watch Sky Sports you will see them using an earlier product from Foresight Sports called the GC2. The Quad is the updated version of this unit and produces even better data. I can honestly say that I have never ever been so excited about a piece of technology since the invention of the mobile phone.

Be One of the First to Use the Lab
The building is days away from being completed and then we have to kit out the internals. This will take approximately 2-3 weeks and then we will deliver to you the most advanced and complete indoor golf lab in Scotland. There will be over £35,000 worth of kit installed into the room which will allow us to deliver the same kind of experience, if not better than you would receive at a top golfing resort. The good thing about all this technology is that it is moveable, so there will not be a huge attraction to my robber friends who broke into me last month.
So with the Lab opening soon I will doing some FREE custom fitting sessions for you all. This is a unique opportunity for you to be fitted to golf clubs in the best fitting solution possible. Rory Signs for TaylorMade
It really came as huge surprise when Rory signed for TaylorMade this week as he had been trialing irons from Callaway recently. He has been on and off with the TaylorMade M2 driver just like many of the old Nike staff players, so that was not as much of a surprise.
The product that everyone is putting the signing down to is the ball, the New TaylorMade TP5 ball. We will be getting this ball to fit with in the lab, so we will report back to you on the results.
50 Years of Nerston
Many of you will already be aware of that we will be celebrating 50 years of our course being here at Nerston. We are running competitions over the Friday and Saturday which have proven to be extremely popular but many of you may not be aware of another fantastic event on Sunday, 14 May.
We are hosting a "Trick Shot Display" and I don't just mean some of the shots you see off the 1st tee during a Medal. I am talking about a fantastic trick shot artist going through a medley of jaw dropping tricks. Check out the website of the "Trick Shot King Dean Davis" by clicking here.
