Greetings,

 

After the weekend I have an "ACDC" hit rocking about my head. De de de de de da Thunder. Most people may think I have quite a stress free job but I can tell you that sometimes it can be very stressful. 

Like Saturday for example when I was faced with "The hooter dilemma." Deciding whether or not to sound the horn of doom for the threat of lightening was extremely stressful. Half the field with not so good scores wanting to hear the sweet sound of the horn and the other half wanting to stick a cork in it.

I just want everyone to know that I will always try and keep the course open and competition going for as long as I can but your safety is paramount. I held off abandoning the competition for as long as we could but when the Thunder and lightning got closer there was no way we could continue. Hopefully we have no storms this weekend!


 

Professional's Day Entry Fee to be paid by Friday, 9 June 

Just a quick reminder that Professional's Day Entry Fees have to be paid at the professional Shop by Friday, 9 June. We have a lot to plan for the day including food and drink, so final numbers for the day are very important to us. If we do not receive payment by this time then we will unfortunately have to release your time. If you have any problems or questions then please just contact me.


 

59 A 59

We have lots of lovely families at the club and none more lovely than the Macallisters. The boys eat, sleep and breathe golf and pretty much live at the club. They are encouraged and supported by their parents who to be fair spend just as much time at the club as the boys do. Young David has shot up about a foot in the last year and he has been putting in the hours over the winter and early season on his game and last week everything fell into place. 

We have pretty good nett scores each week in our medals but the young gun eclipsed all of them with an outstanding nett 59!!!! Yes a 59. He totally smashed the course to bits and boy did he deserve it. Well done young man, well done!


Michael Law Doing Well on the Links 

Michael Law was very close to winning silverware in the prestigious 4 day Nairn Dunbar 4 day Senior Open. Michael progressed all the way into the final where he lost out narrowly to Ivor Matheson from Southerness Golf Club. 

It's great to see one of our members doing so well representing our club and obviously our windy course helped Michael train his game for the Nairn Links!




The Doors are Open

Last week we gently opened our doors to you all and it has proven to be a real hit with you all. We will be having an official opening in the near future where we will have a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate our fantastic addition to our already wonderful club. The feedback we have had from the members who have used the lab has been immense and the differences we have made to your games over the last few days has exceeded even my expectations.

I am a firm believer that I can make players better by making them aware of what they do and educate them in how to practice better. Better practice is what makes players better and this is the end result of good education.

Don't worry I don't have a secret love of shoes but what I do have is a unique set of trade in skills that makes me a dream for people like you. I will be giving you £15 for a pair of old shoes when you trade them in against any shoe we have in stock. I don't care how old they are or even if they have no soles, I want them!!
