Greetings,

Pros news

I've had some emotional times in my life, some have been happy and some have been sad but nothing could prepare me for that game of football at the weekend. I am not hugely into football but I do like to watch it and when Scotland play I give them my full support and every single ounce of passion as I prepare for glorious failure. Saturday was just unbelievable as we took on our English neighbours and we were the underdogs yet again.

As the game panned out I thought yes we will do something stupid and they will sneak a goal and yes we did and yes they did. Then we had an intervention from someone somewhere that gave us the gift of hope, the gift of belief and the gift of two of the best free kicks in history. Leigh Griffiths, not my favourite player I may add, did what you could only dream of doing against your fiercest rivals at Hampden. It was almost euphoric as I jumped around my living room like a 3 week old springer spaniel, holding my youngest aloft like the world cup itself. As I calmed down I realised that my £2.50 bet on a Scotland 2-1 win and Griffiths goal was coming in, life couldn't be sweeter. I looked at my wife and said "This could be one of the best days of my life!"

Then just like a 5 iron to my soul, the world collapsed along with our goalkeeper and midfield. My euphoric dreams had been dashed and I felt sick, sick, sick. My mood changed rapidly as I had just realised that the two moments of magic had been outdone for the simple reason we hadn't toe poked the ball up the park. For the first time in history a Scot hadn't the thought to smash it into row Z. I had gone from "Braveheart" to "Heavyheart."

Members news

Golf Buggy for Sale

One of our members is selling their single seat golf buggy which has been used very sparingly. The buggy comes with aluminium ramps, golf bag holder and a rear storage basket. The batteries were only replaced last year also.

If you would like some more information on it then please contact me here.

Ladies section

Ladies on Tour

Last week our Ladies section went on an outing to Liberton Golf Club and had an excellent time. Reports were flying into the club regarding their big day. Colette Maule, Janette Neilson and Amelia Thomson had a blistering team score of 59! Gail Campbell, Lorraine Bell and Rena McMorris were not far behind with a 60.

Sheila Sergeson
smashed her way to victory in the silver class long drive while Christine Wilson won the bronze long drive. Amelia Thomson was nearest the pin in silver class and Etta Buchanan won closest to the pin in bronze class. Well done to all winners!

Golf Lab Feedback

The feedback has got better and better reading the golf lab and it really has made all the effort and sleepless nights worth it. We really have created something really special together as a club. Word is travelling fast on social media and through surrounding clubs which is absolutely marvelous. Players have really enjoyed the technology we have on offer and just even the way we have decorated the room. It is such a great space for us all to enjoy. I have even had players from my old club come over to see it in action and players form even further afield.

Pros day

It's Nearly Here

I cannot believe it's a year since the last "Professionals Day" but yes it is and that makes me older, but that really doesn't matter when you are having fun. Fun is what it's all about and this will be the focus of the day, along with great prizes, great food, great refreshments and more fun! The field is full again and we will be going that extra mile for you all to make the day extra special. The weather looks as if it will be holding out which is great, I will however be installing numerous weather apps on my phone until I get the forecast I want.

We will be having a closest to the pin on Wentworth Golf Course for you all to take part on in our simulator before you go out. We also have a putting competition too! These are both sponsored by BMW, so ensure that you arrive well before your tee time on Saturday to take part in them!
