Gain More Yards in the Winter without Changing your Clubs or your Swing
It’s a bold statement but a true one, I can get you more yards from doing something very simple. Most people will store their clubs in the garage or even in their cars overnight but in the winter, the temperature of your clubs and especially the ball will affect the distance the ball goes. Rubber is not a good conductor of heat and when a golf ball is cold, it will not rebound off the clubface as well. So keep your balls warm and you will hit the ball further in the winter. It will also allow you to control the ball better on and around the greens. If your clubs are freezing then the shaft will not perform to its best capabilities. The temperature of a golf ball affects its ability to rebound from the clubface. The following chart is the approximate influence of temperature on the ball for a shot that would normally carry 220 yards at 75 degree temperature. |
