Hello Golfers,

The wooly hats have gone and the de-icer has been replaced with the sun cream. Well, for a week at least. Hopefully this is us moving away from the terrible winter we have had. I don't think I remember a worst one to be honest. The course has taken pounding and will take quite a while to improve. One thing that is still a problem is players still not repairing their pitchmarks and I’m afraid its 100% not visitors, it's members. There really isn't anything easier than repairing pitchmarks and there is absolutely no excuse for not doing it. I would encourage you to shame your playing partners who choose not to look after the course. This is the only way to help the situation, otherwise your greens wont be at the standard you would like.

When I talk about using technology to measure player's club and ball data it sometimes scares people. They think that it's going to be so difficult to understand but it is totally the other way round. When we use our quad launch monitor we use little bits of information to make the player understand what they are doing and why it's not efficient. Then we give them simple practice routines to make the ball flight better. A picture paints a thousand words and allows us to accurately measure your progress. It's not complicated, it's a systematic way to get you better. The technology is seriously advanced and because of this we can simplify the information we give you. What a day for Martin and May Britovsek

Martin and May brought a Scottish title to East Kilbride GC last year and this year they brought a couple of famous Tour Pro's with them. PING who sponsored the Scottish Mixed competition had arranged for Catriona Mathew, Rachel McQueen and Connor Syme to come along to play a few holes with them.

Unfortunately the snow had struck again but that didn't hamper the fun because we have THE GOLF LAB. So Martin and May got to have a few holes indoor with them instead.

They also hosted a question and answer in the clubhouse which many of you found very interesting.

The feedback from the Tour Pro’s about our golf lab was amazing with Connor saying it was the best one he has seen. So we are doing a lot correct as far as they can see.

Are you a V or X?

When it comes to golf balls, there are two questions we hear on an almost daily basis, both concerning Titleist’s Pro V1 and Pro V1x. So we thought we’d take this opportunity to let you all know the answers...

What’s the difference between V and X?
Both of the Pro V1 balls are designed to provide long and short game performance, but there are subtle differences from tee-to-green.

While both feel soft, the Pro V1 is a little softer and has a penetrating flight that delivers more roll from the tee, whereas the Pro V1x feels firmer and flies higher.

Which one should I play?
If it’s a straight shootout between the Pro V1 and Pro V1x, then you’re going to benefit from distance, control and feel either way.

Both models are used on tour by players such as Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, but it really comes down to your personal feel preference and which characteristics suit your game, which we can discuss during a ball fitting.
