Well guys I hope you liked summer! Saturday was the best summer I can remember.

We eventually saw some grass growing on the course, which is very nice indeed. Hopefully, we get another summer next weekend and the weekend after that, but then again we do live in Scotland.

By the time you read this, I will have been on whirlwind trip to Gerona where I will be playing on both of the courses at PGA Catalunya. I’m heading out with “Your Golf Travel” to do a review of the facilities and courses and see whether or not it would be a suitable destination for a member’s golf trip. Some of you may even have witnessed me getting some practice in last week, but you know how it is, you never lose it, well not completely. I will report back to you next week!

Congratulations To The New Mr & Mrs Henderson

Last week our ex-Junior Convenor “Alex Henderson” married his bride “Susan”. They had the reception at the club where they danced to the early hours. I would just like to pass on my congratulations to them and thanks for the flip flops I found outside the shop. Yes, flip flops!

Hole In One For Alex Cunningham

Alex has been known by about three first names this week as so many people tried to pass on the good news but we all got there in the end.

Alex is a diamond of a chap who loves his golf and was fitted by my young prodigy Stuart around 2 months ago to a new set of Mizuno irons. Glad to see the magic happen with the clubs Alex!

A common phrase we hear here in the shop is: “It’s round and white, it can’t be that different”. The truth is that every single golf ball is unique in some way – whether it’s the ball’s core, layers or dimple pattern – but there is one thing that all premium balls have in common…

Try Urethane with the Z-Star and Z-Star XV
Like all tour-level golf balls, the Srixon Z-Star and Z-Star XV boast a Urethane cover, which sets the bar for cover materials.

Urethane – a soft and flexible polymer – will give you the highest possible spin rates combined with the best feel; benefits you will really notice when hitting chip and pitch shots.

However, if you like to play lower flighted chip-and-runs you might prefer other options in Srixon’s range that are made with Ionomer covers. While this type of cover doesn’t generate as much spin, it is slightly more durable and offers a cheaper alternative.
