Well I guess we had to pay for our sunshine at some point! The last few weeks have been less than ideal as far as playing conditions but in true Linlithgow spirit you all soldiered on. There has been some great golf played and despite the weather I am sure you'll all agree the course has held up tremendously thanks to Grant and his first class staff.
Silloth
On behalf of the golf club I would just like to thank Craig Hunter for supplying the huge gazebo that helped shelter our booze from the wind and the rain during the Silloth. It was much appreciated by everyone and helped to make the competition a huge success. Cheers Craig!
I would also like to say a special thanks on behalf of myself to all of you who reached into your soaking wallets on the 7th hole and donated to the Graeme Bell trust fund. Graeme certainly appreciated the contribution but did shudder slightly when he found out how many of you hit the green. That's why they call it gambling!
PGA Championship
Well I don't know about you guys but I've always seen the PGA Championship as the Micky Mouse major of the year, however I officially stand corrected as it produced some of the best golf I've ever seen in my entire short life. With a world class top 10 heading into the Sunday a birdie blitz ensued which made for an extremely close championship. As Mcilroy faltered slightly on the front nine I couldn't help but think that his chances had gone but after a beautifully striped 3 wood into the 10th green and a successful eagle putt it was his for the taking. I do want to say that the phrase "better to be lucky than good" does have some relevance here. Watching Mcilroy hit that I shot I still have no doubt that he pulled and thinned it, something the commentators failed to pick up on. Nevertheless the guy is a genius. A fantastic birdie on 17 sealed the deal and Mcilroy picked up his 4th career major. Well done Mcilroy!!

Top Trolley
This week we received the state of the art push trolley from Mottocaddy which proves that size doesn't matter. The M1 lite folds to the size of a small cube and is very convenient for any golfer. This beast is yours for just £149.00!!
Also new government ruling that all trolleys must be registered with DVLA and license plates should be on show at all times. Please contact the DVLA for more information.
Robin Williams
To finish this week's letter I do just want to mention how saddened I was to hear that the great Robin Williams has died at the age of 63. He was an incredible actor and a hysterically funny man who will be missed by all.
