MASTERS SWEEPSTAKE
Its that time of year again and the Masters is just round the corner. We are running our Masters Sweepstake and it's £2 a square, so pop into the shop to get your lucky square!
We will never ever go thirsty, never! We have serious amounts of water, maybe we should start a mineral water plant. We could call it 'Linlithgow Spring' and we could be richer beyond our wilder dreams Rodney. The sky has thundered down buckets of the wet stuff and the course has taken a pounding. The water table is seriously high and we need you all to be vigilant whilst on the course. So here is a guide to looking after your course:
Avoid all roped off areas and don't take short cuts over them!
If using a power trolley, use winter wheels and this will stop the course getting ripped up and will make our course last!
Repair all plug marks and please be aware that even woods make plug marks!
On the subject of keeping the course in good shape, I must talk about the practice area again as someone has been practicing, which is good, but replacing their divots, which is bad, and we do have our suspicions who it is and we will be watching. Anyone caught doing this will be reported to the council and will be dealt with accordingly. It really is unnecessary and lazy. Have a look for yourselves and you can see how bad it is.
Change your ball, change your game and you will make lots of savings too!
This is the ball thats changing the game, believe me! The Wilson DX Soft is absolutely amazing and people are changing from their current choice of ball because its soft and long, very long! The Dx2 has the lowest compression of any ball available in the UK (40). This is designed to provide a softer feel and improved playability around the green.
Added distance comes from an eight per cent larger core and a thinner cover. This delivers minimal spin off the driver, but progressively higher spin rates on approach shots. The ball is half the price of a Pro v1 and for most people it goes further and is softer around the greens.
As usual people were skeptical, just ask 'Jock and Jim Simpson' who have started using it instead of the Pro V1. They absolutely love it and so does every single person who's tried it. It will also save you a fortune! Click here or click on the image to see a review on my new website.

I was the best man!
Yes for once I was considered 'The Best Man' and it was to one of my oldest friends 'Dave'. Everyone's got a friend called Dave, I bet you! I have never been so petrified in all my life. I did think about running away at least twice and had to adopt varying breathing exercises to cope with the strain. The wedding was great and was held at 'The Roman Camp' hotel in Callander. It was a wonderful setting and I did manage to deliver numerous innuendos and horrific stories about my pal to all of his friend and shocked in-laws.
There was a 5 course meal before the speeches and I'm afraid most of it went to waste as I was in a state of panic. It was definitely the hardest thing I have ever done but It was quite an honor.

Get a Grip
At this time of year we tell everyone to inspect their equipment and get a grip! Yes I'm talking to you, the one with the shiny grips and also you with his thumb print etched on the front of his driver grip. Having old and weathered grips will reduced your clubhead speed by up to 5mph and it will also limit any control over your shots. It is also illegal to have grips with your finger marks worn into them, so get them changed before someone notices!
We are currently doing a promotion on regripping. Get your 9 irons gripped and you will get your woods done for free. Basically, get 3 grips done free when you buy 9! That will save you up to £36!!
