When Is Free Not Free You will see a number of places offering FREE CUSTOM FITTING but is it really free? American Golf and Affordable Golf offer this but seriously guys, these are places where the staff’s jobs depend on selling and will sell you anything. Another part of this is that they are also incentivized to sell different brands on different days and will get more commission depending on these brands. They do not calibrate their demo clubs or check the build of custom sets to make sure the manufacturers have got it correct. The staff are trained in hard sales techniques and different ways to close deals quickly. They don't care or worry about assisting your game. To them you are just a number. They won’t get paid unless they sell. Basically these places are the complete opposite of me and the complete opposite of what happens on Tour. So ask yourself the question, is it really free if you walk out the door with a club that is no better than your current one, or the wrong spec and £100's of pounds lighter. Or indeed is it even a custom fitting? It's not free, it's not custom fitting and it's not going to help you. We on a weekly basis tell customers that they don't need any new clubs and we do charge for that a fee but we won’t be costing you money, we will be saving you money and giving you a better game.
