Summer has arrived at last and boy are we ready for it.

Greens

We have at last achieved some good growing weather which has brought the greens on a lot. We have a number of different grasses in our greens and they all grow at different rates which makes getting surfaces even very difficult. Combine that with being high up and exposed to a nasty East wind makes everything harder. Scott has been working so hard in Brian’s absence and a big thank you to him and his staff in recent weeks.

I would also just like to say that members are STILL NOT REPAIRING PITCHMARKS! It is the height of ignorance and we need to stamp this out. Educate your playing partners if you see them disregarding their responsibilities! Or even better, report them to me!

Professional’s Day 2019

It’s that time of year again for the biggest and funnest day of the year. Every year we keep on raising the bar and this year we are going to mix it up a bit! The format will change to a shotgun Texas Scramble 4 ball competition. We will have an 8am shotgun and a 1pm shotgun. This has worked so well this year already and the feedback has been great.

Our live scoring will be in action yet again, so you can see exactly what you’ve got to do to capture the title.

We will also have some more new things to keep your pulses racing. So entry this year will be £12 and this will include a ticket to the after party, prizes, the famous on course BBQ and refreshments.

As usual we will have limited sponsored times that will guarantee you and 3 of your friends a time for the day. These will be £80 and will include all of the above plus some extra surprises. There will also be a separate prize for the best sponsors team score.

If you have never played before, then you are in for a blast. With my singing, Stuarts dancing and Welshy’s banjo strumming, EK definitely has got talent, well kind of!

Have you been custom fitted?

First things first, the easiest way to achieve the holy grail of long, straight drives is to find the middle of the clubface every time, which is easier said than done for most of us. Following that, it’s all about launching your drives high with a good spin rate.

Simple, right?
