Another Couple Of Thoroughbreds Gallop Out Of The Stable Young Luke Robertson is an absolute gentleman and a very good golfer. He is hugely powerful and has hair to die for. He was having issues controlling the driver, so we set to work. His driver shaft was so light and particularly active in the tip. We also found that the driver was very long and this made controlling strike a big issue. So we changed the shaft of his driver and made it considerably shorter. The strike improved and ball speed went up which was awesome. The next task was to help Luke control the clubface better and to feel that his body rather than wrists were playing a bigger part. He struggled at first but then bingo he got it. In the medal on Saturday Luke scored his first sub-par round ever and I was greeted with a hug and this statement ‘THAT LESSON WAS THE BEST £35 I'VE EVER SPENT!' One of our newer members 'James Connolly' came to me as his golf was all over the place, his words not mine. So on Saturday we took a look at his game in the Lab. We did some measuring and we quickly found on his irons that the lie angle of his clubs was seriously holding him back. We measured them and found they were 2 degrees flat and not the standard lie angle he thought. Within a few minutes, his ball flight was so much better. |
