When you come to the end of your lollipop, yes that was the song I was singing as I boarded the flight back from Majorca, I was in Peurto Pollensa, not Magaluf, so don't worry. Kenny Stewart and Ian Henderson highly recommended the place, which I must admit had me a little worried. But they were right, what a place. |

I won't bore you with the details but one thing I have to mention is my visit to see the world-famous...
PETER BUBBLES |
The man who sounds just like Michael Bubble but looks like Michael from the petrol station in Govan. At first, I genuinely thought he was maybe a bus driver from Jet2 but when he started to sing he was fantastic. One more thing that puzzles me about going on holiday and especially when you fly out of Glasgow Airports is that, why do grown men wear football tops, full training gear etc. to fly in. I can understand if you actually play for a team travelling to a European match or a supporter going to a game abroad. But not with your kids, wife and granny Elspeth. |

Brian Bolland
The night before I left for Holiday Brian sadly passed away. I wrote a small piece about Brian for Stuart's newsletter last week. Sadly I missed his funeral but I'm sure it was very well attended. Life is far too short and we should all enjoy it while we can.

Ladies
Hello to all our lady members. I have had a few discussions with some members regarding my stock of ladies clothing. I just wanted to try and reach out to all of you and ask you for your support. Running a small retail business is a very difficult task and especially during a time where huge department stores are closing. They are closing because people are buying more online than ever before. When I arrived here at East Kilbride I stocked ladies clothing for the first 3 years. Every single year I lost money on the ladies products, so to stock something that you know is going to cost you money is impossible for me to do.
|
I do stock a full range of ladies gloves, bags, socks, hats, brollies, clubs, golf balls and shoes. I can also order products in a few days for you. Maybe some of you aren't aware of this but I always will provide you with what you need if you let me know what you want.
I have an online service for everyone at www.foremostgolf.com where there is a great selection of clothing for all ladies to buy. This can be done by a means of Click & Collect, so you can pick them up at the shop, take home to try on and if necessary return them at no charge. |
|
In recent years I have bought in 'end of line clothing' to be sold at discount at our Ladies Open Days and that has been reasonably successful. However, selling at discounted prices when you've bought it for full price is not sustainable.
I really want to get more ladies clothing in but I need you all to support me, so I can keep running a business. Under Armour have got a great range of clothing for ladies and I am more than happy to run an Under Armour morning where you can see what they have to offer. Please pop into the shop for a chat and let me know what I can do to help.

The Open Championship
Not the British Open like many big golf companies have marketed it as. Yep, TaylorMade Europe called it that on social media. Their highly paid marketing department made a right TP5's up of it.
Anyway, the ever-popular Open Championship Sweepstake is in full operation. Tickets are priced at £2 and time is running out!

Golf clothing has come a long way from the old-style knickerbockers worn in the early 1900s - you can hardly imagine popping to the supermarket in a pair of those today. Fortunately, these days, golf brands make clothing that is high performing on the course but looks good enough to set the trend off it too. |

Take this polo from Galvin Green, which has really caught our eye this season. The yellow and black design drips a classy yet modern look that is so versatile it is guaranteed to be something of a head turner away from the course as well as on it.
The Monte polo is a worthy addition to any golfing wardrobe, so come on down and take a closer look at Galvin Green's range next time you're at the club.
