The weather has been a bit like Brexit - Don't know what's going to happen day by day, suddenly it looks promising and then the heavens open and the outlook is grim! Scottish Courts have ruled the closing of Parliament unlawful, to be honest, I think the fact that Boris has used a hand grenade to do his hair very unlawful... Moving on!

SamPutt Lab

This week in our putting studio we had a golfer in who lost all confidence in his putting. He was struggling to start the ball on line and also struggling with the pace very badly. He has always used a blade putter and hadn't ever looked into the possibility of using a different style to help him. We got him on Sam and within a few minutes a pattern began to emerge. Strike location on the putter face was very inconsistent and the arc on which he stroked the ball was also very inconsistent. His blade putter had no sightline for him as a guide of where the middle was, therefore, a lot of the time he wasn't aiming the putter out of the middle to begin with. As well as this his eyes were very much inside the ball instead of looking down on the ball which seemed to be having a bad effect on the path. We got him set-up over the ball better and I made a sightline on his own putter using tape to see the effects this would have and they were instant. He began to find the centre of the face more consistently and due to having his eyes more over the ball the start line was much much better on every putt! Mizuno MP20 range

The traditional MP20 MB blade, The MP20 MMC Cavity back, and their new players distance iron the MP20 HMB. They've done it again...

When a product has been the centre of a range for over a decade you know it must be pretty special, right? We certainly think so and it can be said of the Srixon AD333 golf ball, which is now into its ninth generation.

How does it differ? Well, it feels amazingly soft, provides even more distance and imparts a lot of spin when around the green. It's definitely worth a go, even if we do say so ourselves.

Battle of the irons
