This is Stuart on newsletter duty this week. The trees are beginning to turn orange which sees the beginning of the end for this summer’s golf. Hopefully, the weather stays dry for another while to allow everyone to keep playing that wee bit longer!
Me and Graeme took part in a Foresight Skills Challenge at The Golf Performance Lab this week. Watch the video to see how we got on! |

Solheim Cup
This is the first time I’ve properly sat down to watch the Solheim Cup and if I’m being honest, I would say that this one had its ups and downs. The pace of play was a huge talking point over the first two days with groups taking three hours to play nine holes which was a bit ridiculous.
However, with that being said, the golf on Sunday was excellent to watch! It was so close between the two teams all day and for it to come down to the final putt of 12 matches was astonishing! For Petterson to hold her nerve the way she did and hole that winning putt was the perfect end to a thrilling days golf. In the end, it was a great advert for women’s golf and I hope it will see lots more women start playing!

New Drivers
Technology in drivers nowadays is helping people of all ages. Whether you are looking for distance or accuracy (or both) there is sure to be a driver from one manufacturer that can really help achieve your golfing goals. With that being said, with new technology in driver heads comes a healthy retail price, often upwards of £399 these days. We understand this is not always an option, but that shouldn’t stop you from finding the distance and accuracy you want. During our driver optimization sessions, we look at your current driver and test different settings and swing feelings to see how we can help you get the most out of your current driver.
There are several common misconceptions with the settings on adjustable drivers. For example, did you know that putting the loft up closes the face and can, therefore, help prevent losing distance with a slice? Many people think that putting the loft down closes the face which in reality has the opposite effect, and could be stopping you from reaching your full potential.
If you would like to see how your driver performs against another driver or would like to optimise your current driver, then get in touch by clicking here and see how we can help you. |
Quest for Speed
You may remember a while back I bought a set of SuperSpeed sticks which are designed to help increase swing speed. Over a period of 4 weeks using the sticks, I managed to increase my driver swing speed from 104mph to 111mph which has given me 15-20 yards of extra carry distance!
Unfortunately, I’ve been slacking recently and not using them as much, which has seen my speed drop back to 104mph. That ends now, as I begin my quest for 115mph! I will now start using them regularly again with the hope of reaching 115mph within the next 4 months! It’s a tall task but I’m up for it! Watch this space for updates and get in touch if you would like to start your own quest for speed!

It's great walking to the first tee with a new driver in hand (that's been custom fitted to suit your swing, of course) that you know will help you outdrive your playing partners, but sometimes it can be a simple change to the ball that you're using that has the biggest effect on your game. |
