Mayday Mayday
This is Captain Bell at the Pro Shop outpost at East Antarctica. We have been smashed with snow, wind, ice and hailstones the size of golf balls. We have even been left with no power at stages but unlucky for you, I still have managed to get enough to power my laptop and give you another Bell Bulletin. Most of Scotland has been belted with this weather and I don't know many courses that have been open if any. Even Kenny Gallagher couldn't get a game anywhere and he will travel long distances to get his golfing fix. We all want our golf bud sometimes there is not much we can do about the weather.
NEW EQUIPMENT
Part of my ethos is to keep ahead of the game regarding technology and services that I can provide to my customers. In the next 2 week we will be taking delivery of a European Tour Club Measuring & Altering Machine. These machines are found on all the Manufacturers Tour Vans and are used to measure and calibrate players clubs. Why is this important to you? Well, the radical thing is that most of you will be playing with clubs that aren't what they say they are.
Your 10 degree driver could be 12 degrees or 8 degrees!
Your 7 iron could be the loft of your 8 iron!
The 2 degree upright irons you bought could be 2 degrees flat!
I do not see technology moving as quick these days but I do see the quality of club building from manufacturers going down. Some are better than others but they don't check what comes out the factory. If you have hit the ball outrageously high with you 9 degree driver and been puzzled by it for years, then maybe it's not 9 degrees!! You may have a club in your bag that you just can't hit, well maybe it's because it's not like the rest of your clubs!! Most people just blame themselves but believe me there are only a couple of manufacturers that can hold their heads high when it comes to their build. A good way to measure the quality of the brands production is to find out if the tour players get their clubs from the factory or do they get them build on tour!
So we can make you better by just measuring and fine tuning the clubs specifications to your own swing and preferences, just like the guys on tour. Why shouldn't you get the same treatment they get? If it helps them then it will seriously help you! Many of the low handicap players at the club have found themselves going up to St Andrews to get clubs measured, tweaked and built. You don't need to do that now as we have the best equipment in Scotland to do everything right here in East Kilbride!
NEW EQUIPMENT BUT WILL IT MAKE YOU BETTER
I always reinforce that I am someone who makes you better and not someone that purely sells golf clubs. Technology is something that sometimes but not always works for you. Achieving more yardage and straighter shots sometimes is possible with a current club. We test new clubs next to you old ones and if we can improve your numbers then boom, we can sell you a club with confidence. Some people change their car because they want to and some people move house because they want to and that can be said for golf clubs to. But like everything, let me help you get the best possible match for you!
So if you fancy a knock at the new TaylorMade Collection then please just pop into the shop and feast your eyes on these. But remember we put your golf game first!
COST PRICE CLEARANCE SALE
Everyone does their sales at the start of January, straight after Christmas but not me. We will be doing it at the start of February. This will include nearly everything in stock, nearly, nearly, no R15 drivers mind you. But you will have a numerous of things to choose from and there will be some prices that will be much less than cost price also. But you will have to be fast. We just like to sell off stock and freshen things up for the start of the season. I will be wetting your appetite on the run up but don't worry I wont email you as much as I did at xmas.
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO WHEN YOU CAN'T PLAY GOLF?
You could go to IKEA , however I would strongly advise against this as you will end up leaving with picture frames and storage solutions that you just don't need. I would suggest that you book your Powakaddy, Motocaddy, Hill billy, Go kart or any electric trolley in for a service. I am an Authorised Service Centre for Powakaddy,Hill Billy & Motocaddy. I have over 12 year's experience in the sales, service and repair of golf trollies and as geeky as it sounds, I love it. I am also very experienced in golf trolley batteries and I know exactly which batteries to buy and which ones to stay well away from. I have only been at the club a few months but I have heard numerous tales of woe from the members regarding batteries and the lack of power, lifespan and service they have received. There is a reason for this and I have a great battery tester which will highlight any potential problems with your battery and give you an exact capacity reading. This is crucial to know if your trolley is going to be ready for action come the start of the season. Take advantage of our half price trolley service.
