As many of you are aware, we are very passionate about junior golf and in particular introducing new kids to the game at East Kilbride Golf Club. As well as developing their skills from a young age, we strongly feel about making it fun and enjoyable for them as they progress through their young golfing career. Without stating the obvious they are the future, and are also potentially lifelong members here at the club. Therefore it is so important and vital to get them started off on the right foot. Hence, and to take our junior programme to a new level i am delighted to say we are partnering 'GolPhin for Kids' to help us all achieve these goals. GolPhin are a Scottish based company who are fully focused on grass roots and the future for all our budding young golfers. They have created a world class app called MyPathWay2Golf, which they launched in January at the PGA Golf Show in Orlando. The app is fantastic and offers many benefits for the children, the coach and the parents/carers. Communication is key via the app and also tracks the progress of the child as they develop through the programme. PGA Professional Alan Tait is Director of Golf Operations for GolPhin, and Alan as very kindly offered to do a 35 minute zoom call presentation on Tuesday 12th January to show you what MyPathWay2Golf is and everything it offers. Alan would normally do this presentation in person, but given the way things are currently, this is a fantastic alternative. We are personally very excited about delivering the programme at East Kilbride Golf Club. Even more exciting, i am delighted to inform you that European Tour star and former junior member at East Kilbride Golf Club Marc Warren is sponsoring the programme and we are indebted to Marc for this fantastic gesture! Marc will also take part in a 10 minute Q&A session with Alan during the zoom call. So we would like as many parents and children on the call as possible. Sons, daughters, nieces, nephews or any neighbours you may know who have children and would be interested in attending the call. I will also be reaching out to local primary schools inviting them to join us. Please also note, this not just targeted at beginners. It is relevant to all 4-12 year olds, regardless of ability or what level they are currently at, so we would encourage all our current juniors (aged 4-12) and their parents to also attend the call. If you would like to book a spot on the zoom call please get in touch with us via email at eastkilbrideproshop@gmail.com or by phoning 01355 581805. Hopefully as many of you will attend the call to see and hear the exciting plans we have going forward. You can also see some more information on GolPhin at www.golphin.com Thank you and please don't hesitate to contact me should you have any more questions. Best Wishes and have a happy new year!
