Just when you think it's safe to put away the winter mitts and hats, Mother Nature hits you on the back of the head with a frying pan full of bad weather. Our first competition of the year was unfortunately postponed due to the monsoon like conditions that swept over Scotland during the weekend. The greens staff did all they could but nothing would of made the course playable. I had got out of my bed especially early at 4.30am to tackle the competition head on and make sure the tee was properly controlled. I will set my alarm for a similar time for this Saturday and fingers crossed we will get golf.

IMPROVE YOU GOLF BY LEARNING FROM OTHERS!
I am golf Pro and I coach for a living but I am saying that you can learn from your playing partners? That is weird isn't it, but I am serious!
If you slice it and your friend draws the ball then watch what they do. Why? Well they do the opposite of you and that can help you. (FOR RIGHT HANDED GOLFERS) They start the ball to the right of the target and you start it to the left. So what does that tell you?
Most slicers think that by aiming the club face more left at the start of their swing then they will not slice it! WRONG - You will influence the ball to start more left and then make the club swing more to the left and bingo you slice it!
A player who draws it sets the face more to the right to start the ball to the right and by doing this will project the path more to the right and they curve the ball from right to left.
So as a slicer will be scared to do this as they think that the ball will go right, but wait a minute, they already do this! So do the following to make it better.
PUSH THE CLUB HANDLE FORWARD OF THE DRIVER THUS MAKING THE FACE POINT TO THE RIGHT. ALLOW THE HANDLE OF THE CLUB TO BE MORE UP.
THIS SOULD MAKE THE SHOULDERS POINT TO THE RIGHT ALSO.
SWING ALONG THE LINE THE FACE IS POINTING AND ENJOY!
DO YOU STRUGGLE WITH YOUR FAIRWAY WOODS?
I have been speaking to many of you on the topic of fairway woods and the poor design of them. What I mean by poor design is the fact that many companies made fairway woods a certain design that made them poor for hitting off fairways. To learn more, please watch the video I did last year.
