Oh dear oh dear oh dear oh dear. I never thought that last week's newsletter title would create so much of stir as I mentioned the now late, but at that time not late 'Cilla Black'. Poor Cilla and may she rest in peace. I have now been asked by many of you to never ever to mention you in my newsletters going forward. Let's face it guys, that ain't going to happen.
JUNIOR COACHING
This week saw our last in the summer series of our Junior lessons. In true Scottish summer, the rain smashed down, the wind blew but we soldered on. We floated shots over bunkers, slashed balls out of heavy rough and created more spin than Tony Blair in the early 2000s. We honed their short game skills so much so that they were all offered Spanish Passports and all have changed their names to 'Miguel', 'Jose' and 'Severiano'.
THE CHAMPIONSHIP
There can only be one!
There can only be one Gents Champion come Saturday evening after 36 gruelling holes of golf round our hallowed turf. It's a huge day for the club and a huge day for the players taking part. It would be great to see all of those not playing coming up and showing their support for all the guys. It's not just about watching as you could all learn a great deal from watching these players play. How the approach each hole, how the tackle pins and how the deal with god and bad shots.
After the Champion is crowned then……………….

THE NEW PING RANGE PROVING VERY POPULAR
Every visitor to the shop this week has headed straight to the new PING range and the feedback has been great. Many of the demo irons have headed straight to the course and fittings have been booked. Always remember that I will not sell you anything without spending time measuring what you do first. Why? Well because I want to make sure that you are going to get a benefit out of any equipment that I sell you. Without doing this, we might as well blindfold you, spin you round and ask you to pick your won club. Pot luck should be left to horse racing and your weekly lottery ticket. We want to give you a return on your investment and not make your golf better. I don't know many high street stores or driving ranges that can say that. If you would like to see what all the hype is about and how I can make your clubs work to their optimum, then please just get in touch.
KIERAN FLYS THE FLAG FOR US AT THE ST ANDREWS BOYS TOURNAMENT
Kieran is the shop's Touring Professional and this week he ventured up to the home of golf and did battle in the St Andrew's Boys. Kieran shot a great qualifying score of 72 and made the matchplay stages. There he won his first match well and then faced the number one qualifier who shot a sublime 66. The lad was a golfing prodigy who had flown in from Japan just for the tournament and couldn't speak any English. That didn't faze Kieran as he has lived in Glasgow for many years and has met many who couldn't speak a word either. The East Kilbride Launcher tried his best bust lost out to the Japanese wonder. Watch this space for 'Yuki Shino'.
AN EXAMPLE OF HOW I USE VIDEO COACHING AND FLIGHTSCOPE RADAR TOGETHER
I love technology and love the fact that I can measure players golfing progression through video and radar. Video is 2 dimensional and radar gives us 3 dimensional data. This allows us to give you evidence as to why to make a swing change, club change or even fitness change. Have a little look at one of my YouTube videos that will give you a clear idea of what it's all about.
