Summer arrived last week and wasn't it wonderful. Sunday could of been classed as tropical and a warm wind thundered through the trees of East Kilbride. All that was missing was a couple of Parakeets and a Silver Tailed Gibbon and we could well of been in the Rain Forrest of Brazil. Unfortunately we only have the odd squirrel here at EK and naughty ones at that. For those of you who watched my Club Championship Commentary, you will know all about the naughty squirrel who was rustling it's nuts during 'Steff Heap's' backswing. The offending Squirrel has been reported to the council and is looking at a substantial suspension. When interviewed about the incident, the squirrel (known as Russellby all his friends) said he had no KNAWledge about it!

TWO TRI AMS IN THE SPACE OF 2 DAYS

We had 2 Tri Ams in the space of 2 days at East Kilbride Golf Club. Fridays had a more corporate feel to it with many local businesses entering their teams into the big day. The weather was splendid and the scoring wasn't too bad either.

On Saturday we had a mixed Tri Am at the club, where our ladies and gents came together in a quest to go low for spoils.

WE NEIL TO RONNIE'S HOLE ONE! 

Ronnie Neil found his wallet slightly lighter come Sunday morning as he was buying everyone drinks to mark his hole in one. Ronnie is fun loving chap but grinds away on the practice area when most of us may well be at the bar. A finer striker of the ball you may never find and I am in no doubt that the ball would have never strayed from the pin on it's epic journey to the hole.

 

NEW STOCK ARRIVING

Out with the old and in with the new! That doesn't included me but does include the arrival of new stock. Our Galvin Green Autumn/Winter stock has landed and as usual it is bursting with quality and technology. Galvin is a premium brand and does come with a premium price but it is worth noting that all my prices are cheaper than our discount store neighbours. It is also worth noting that Galvin Green products last a very long time and are golf specific, so you can be confident that you are buying into a premium product.

We have also brought in a new brand called 'Sun Ice'. Sun Ice is a Canadian Company who specialise in winter sportswear. They have been responsible for many countries Winter Olympic Team Wear. The products they supply are very innovative and work so well within our climate. We have a range of products now in store. From trousers to performance mid layers and Gore-tex Waterproof Jackets at £150!!!Unbelievable value! Pop in the store and I can run you through them with you.

I am a traditionalist at heart and I love a pom pom head cover. I also love displaying the club badge with pride. These little beauties have arrived in stock and I just love them. The quality of the embroidery is second to none and they will last you years and years and years. Why not discard that old worn head cover and give your older driver a new resting place.

LADIES OPEN GREENSOMES IS A HUGE SUCCESS

When I turned up for work on Tuesday, I genuinely thought I had arrived at a ' Sir Tom Jones' Concert. There were Ladies everywhere as far as the eye could see! The car park was filled with lovely clean white cars and there was a wonderful aroma of perfume everywhere. If you had closed your eyes you could have been forgiven for thinking that you were in the Duty Free section at Glasgow Airport. One minute it was 'Christian Dior' and the next it was 'Michael Korrs'. Normal service was resumed when I walked into the shop at lunchtime where I was greeted by a waft of 'Spice'. Not to be confused with 'Old Spice Aftershave' but the Kebab Kieranhad picked up from the Kebab shop down the village! I swear that boy must be Greek.

 

The Ladies had travelled from far and wide, some even from Langlands! In al seriousness we had ladies from Bathgate, Troon, North Berwick, St Andrews and many more. Oh how the tales of my patter and legendary sale rail must of travelled fast. My services sprang into action with many trolley breakdowns and even to the aid of a damsel with a stuck zip. It was a great day and lovely to the see the clubhouse buzzing.

I am sure that you all aware that I am a pretty approachable chap and although I have been her nearly a year, I am always looking to improve my offerings to you.
